Again the Grim Reaper of death entered a home and took a husband and father.

Herman Fredrick Keith, son of Felix and Amanda Keith was born May 3, 1901, and departed this life August 1, 1940, being at the time of his death 39 years, 2 months and 28 days old.

He was married to Edna Nora (Draelants) Keith July 4, 1921, and to this union, four sons and 1 daughter came to bless the home. They are namely: Hershel Wayne of Kaiser, Mo., Herman Eugene Jr., Alden Lavern and Wanda Ruth of the home, who with their mother will mourn the loss of this dear one. One son Warren Glen Preceded his father in death 2-1/2 years ago at the age of 11 years.

Herman, as he was known had been in failing health for a number of years, but bore his suffering patiently.

He was converted and joined the Mt. Enon Baptist church in November 1921. But after some years he wandered away from God. But death he again accepted God as his savior and told so many friends and relatives how wonderful God had been to him.

On the day of his death, he spoke of holding to God's unchanging hands; and told his companion he was still trusting in God. He was a strong believer in prayer those three last weeks and time after time would make the remark, Thank God for what he has done. He leaves his family in peaceful consolation in knowing that he has passed on prepared. He also leaves besides his immediate family his father Felix Keith, Caplinger Mills, Mo., 2 brothers Ray Keith, Stockton and Finis of Caplinger Mills, Mo., besides a host of sorrowing friends and relatives.

His mother Mrs. Amanda Keith, 2 brothers, John Olin, and Howard and one sister Inez also preceded him in death.

He loved to tell us of his faith and being prepared to go meet his Savior.

It is sad that one we cherish
Should be taken from our home,
but the joys that do not perish
Live in memory alone

Funeral services were conducted at Old Union Baptist Church at two o'clock Friday afternoon by Bro. Bill Burchett. The interment in Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Davis & Co. in charge.
